Hey Everyone,
Since I invented the befull solution, I’ve been developing new ways to support your weight loss to keep you motivated and successful. In addition to the befull products, we just added a whole new section to the website including a calorie counter, an exercise tracker, meal plans and a medical tracker.
I can tell you that tools can really make the difference. Studies have shown that people who journal, track calories and exercise experience increased weight-loss.
These are all small, sustainable steps you can do to keep yourself on track and motivated, helping ensure long term weight-loss success.
I want you to go to the site and check out the new small steps section and sign up now to start maximizing your success with the befull solution. You can do this.
*Please consult your doctor before starting any diet or exercise program

A lot of people feel they’ve gained weight because they have no control. They say things like, “I can’t not eat” and they find themselves emotionally eating and binging on unhealthy foods. If you feel out of control, I want you to think for a second about your life. Do you cheat on your significant other? Do you regularly skip work because you drank too much the night before? Do you recklessly drive too fast all the time? You’re probably thinking “no, that’s silly,” but what I’m trying to demonstrate is that you DO have control in a lot of places in your life. In fact, you’re probably in control of A LOT of your life, so why would your weight-loss be any different? When you’re feeling like you can’t control your eating, I want you to think about all the places in your life you are control and tell yourself “I can do this,” because I know you can.

Hi, Everyone –
There are a million diet blogs and Web sites out there right now, and it can be really difficult to navigate through all of them. Well, the blog Does This Blog Make Us Look Fat? was recently brought to my attention and it is worth checking out.
In addition to a great support group, the blog offers tips, tools and an entertaining read. Also, one of the bloggers, Rebecca, is currently testing out FullBar for a week to see how it can help her as a weight management tool. Check it out and watch her progress.

Hi, Everyone –
We are now well on our way into 2009 and the buzz about keeping your resolutions is stronger than ever – even I have been talking all about it! While it is important to stay focused if weight-loss is a resolution, it’s also important to be inspired and I have just the story for you. Yesterday, the dailybreeze.com featured a story about a man who has 188 pounds. Bill Kessler went from 413 pounds to 225 pounds and he did it in a healthy, responsible way. Check out this inspiring story here.

Hi, Everyone –
Another year has gone by and here we are again. It’s up to you, 2009 can be the best year of your life, or it can be another year where the resolutions go out the window. This time, hold yourself accountable – write it down. What are your resolutions for this year? How many times have you had the same resolutions before?
This is your year,

Hi, Everyone –
An interesting health-focused Web site was recently brought to my attention that has lots of great resources for anyone looking to get healthy. Fat Fighter TV is the brainchild of veteran health reporter Sahar Aker, a journalist who has found her way from news stations across the U.S. to Fat Fighter TV.
The site has heath information, news, tips, recipe exchanges and a video forum with all original videos. The videos are pretty interesting. Many of them are real people giving their own diet and weight-loss tips. For an entertaining and informative experience, check it out. Anyone have any other must read sites to share?

Hi, Everyone –
A disturbing article came out in the UK’s Sun today. The article discusses the recent rise in the number of young girls battling eating disorders. In just 13 months, the British Pediatric Service Unit reported that there were 206 cases of anorexia in children under the age of 13, and the youngest reported was just six-years-old.
It is so important that kids have good role models when it comes to eating, being active and accepting their bodies. With all of the negative images in the media, it is even more important that kids have positive influences they can emulate. How do you keep your kids grounded when it comes to a healthy lifestyle?

Hi, Everyone –
An article I was interviewed for in the Denver Metro September edition of M.D. News recently came out, and after reading the article, I realized there is some really important information I have not talked about on this blog. As you may know, I am a bariatric surgeon and the criterion for bariatric surgery is a very common question I get. Gastric bypass is by no means a quick fix, but it can be a very effective tool for certain people. As outlined in the article I mentioned, written by Jeanne Davant, below is the checklist for bariatric surgery:
· BMI of 40, or 35 with comorbidities.
· Comorbidities such as depression, diabetes, fatigue, GERD, heart disease, coronary heart disease, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, joint pain, menstrual and/or fertility issues, sleep disorders, and urinary stress incontinence
· Failure of previous weight-loss attempts
· No medical problems that would make surgery too hazardous
· No abuse of drugs or alcohol for at least one year
· Non-smoker, or willingness to quit in anticipation of surgery
· Readiness to make permanent life changes
· The personal desire to have surgery for yourself
If you have any questions, just ask!
